My days are generally filled with making sure my tinfoil hat is fitted properly and keeping my eye out for the cameras that are obviously shooting the reality TV series based upon pop up art installations in our fine streets, such as the one above that evarels captured the other day. Obviously, I’ve mused about these before as some actually do seem intentional or just overall bad ass.
The above piece makes me pause for thought. I find that the empty crate suggests a hunger of the soul while the cracked vinyl seat cushion in the chair assemblage portion evokes a sense of couch-like longing. A genius piece to say the least and I look forward to viewing it within the confines of the new SF MOMA expansion to see if it does indeed manage to bring “the street” inside.
