It appears that we have the unfortunate timing of both Saigon Sandwiches (best bánh mì in the hood accordingn to our readers and possibly the best one in America according to the NY Times Magazine, in spite of being “in a particularly rough stretch of the Tenderloin”) and Lahore Karahi (Christmas in your mouth) being closed for pretty much the whole of March as well.

Saigon Sandwiches is tragically closed allegedly so that they can remodel a bit. No word if said remodel will punch up the awesome or not, but we’re betting the place will look pretty much the same when they reopen on April 1st.

Lahore Karahi is just closed so that Guddu can take a family break, which of course means such things as my giving Chutney another visit today and being firmly reminded that yes, it is no Lahore. Lahore Karahi starts re-dishing the spicy deliciousness on March 25th, although the last time Guddu took off to Pakistan he ended extending his leave…
