This morning, on my way home from the HOC Farmers’ Market (where I got three pounds of turnips for $1, in case anyone is interested which maybe you weren’t), I saw some workers installing new traffic lights at the intersection of Hyde and Ellis. When I asked the guys what had happened to the old lights, they responded ‘which old lights? There weren’t lights here”. I looked at them puzzled, and then they explained that Ellis is soon going to become a two-way street. And here I thought all the street they’re tearing further up was just for resurfacing. You heard it here first unless you heard it elsewhere before this. And in that case, you need to be our source.

Great news! I have read that they were planning to make Leavenworth 2-way too:

I wonder if that’s still in the works?
@eugene yeah I hope so, too. I’d like to see Leavenworth slowed down a lot. People (especially cabs) go way too fast up there. Granted, I’m guilty of it, too, but I’m only on a bike and will only hurt myself.
I’d like to see the one-ways removed from all the north-south parts of the Loin. Why are they only 1-way through the Loin and not the rest of Nob Hill. Classist!
Here first!
