One of Shakespeare’s most magical plays, The Tempest is currently playing at the Exit Theater (277 Taylor) a special adaptation by the Cutting Ball company. The Tempest tells the story of the Duke of Milan, who uses sorcery to cause a shipwreck to bring his treacherous brother to the enchanted isle where he has lived in exile with his daughter for twelve years. Magic, monsters, romance, and drunken foolery spin their world into surreal chaos before the brothers meet and order is restored. In the tradition of Cutting Ball’s uniquely San Franciscan The Taming of the Shrew and expressionistic Macbeth, this three-person chamber version of The Tempest promises to give an up close and personal look at the monsters lurking inside all of us.

As a special holiday treat for Tender readers, we’re giving away two sets of tickets for this weekend’s performances – two for Saturday at 8pm and two for Sunday at 5pm. All you have to do is leave a comment saying you want to go and we’ll email the lucky winners. Don’t miss this opportunity to see a modern adaptation of one of the greatest theater classics, and the last one Shakespeare wrote.

Even if you don’t get these tickets, you can still buy them here. Performances are Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 8pm; Sunday at 5pm until December 19th. The Tempest runs two hours and fifteen minutes, including a fifteen-minute intermission.

To simplify things, I used the site Random.org to generate two random numbers between 1 and 10 (the number of comments received wanting the ticket). The generator spat 1 and 8, so Alice and Sara are the lucky winners and will receive emails accordingly. Thank you all for participating!
