One of my favorite corners in the Tenderloin has to be Le Marché, at Hyde and Turk. Not only because it’s an open air market of all sorts of bizarre products that surprise me every time I pass by, but because of the unexpected things that you can see if you pay some attention to details, like a Where’s Waldo of WTF?
Last week, for example, I noticed this tire sitting on top of the Hyde street sign. I have no idea if it was there accidentally, or if it actually has some meaning such as signaling some type of business transaction (akin to the shoes hanging from phone wires). But there it sits happily, watching all that is this corner of Hyde.
