
Called the “best Vietnamese sandwich in the neighborhood” by at least one of our neighbors, Baguette Express has closed. We are not only now with one less choice in Banh-Mi, but also without yet another local business. For when a business closes, it becomes a magnet for random acts of unfortunate things. Thus you get signs like the one below.

In all seriousness, given that I can watch multiple drug deals going down in the streets during any random Sunday jaunt, will the police really come to roust some homeless individual camping out in an empty storefront? Methinks not. Nice try however.

Still, any business that sells sandwiches for two bucks and change is scraping against the very definitions of profit margin. I could never figure out how those sandwich places stayed in business.

I was amused when MR LEE saw profit in Vietnamese sandwiches.HE IS SHREWD,When they Pushed the rent way up on Lees deli on Sansome and Commercial HE SAID NO.
MOVED DOWN THE STREET AND HAS TWICE AS MUCH SPACE.
