These signs made a bit of an appearance lately along Sutter as well as other spots. For those unaware (as I was until evarels pointed it out), they’re a take on the Keep Calm and Carry On signs that were produced by the British government at the beginning of WWII. Apparently, they weren’t really used, but about 10 years ago they were rediscovered and naturally, in the age of all things digital, have taken off and been spoofed like wild. Some of the more amusing ones include: these, this, as well as this dose of vulgarity and this one. Anyways, an enjoyable little jaunt of street art. As always, if anyone knows more about the direct source, do tell ole chaps.
