There are a couple of interesting free events happening tonight in the neighborhood, and we hope to see you tender readers there!

  • Opening reception for the exhibit “We Haven’t Felt This Way In Years II” at Gallery Heist (679 Geary, at Leavenworth). “We Haven’t Felt This Way In Years II” is a non themed exhibition by multiple artists from all across the United States, the second in a series of curated “surveys” by artist/curator Ryan De La Hoz. See the full list of artists here

Many of the artists will be in attendance and refreshments will be served. At 7pm.

  • Book release party for “We Never Learn: The Gunk Punk Undergut, 1988-2001” at the Hemlock Tavern (1131 Polk Street) 6pm. This is the first and only book on the last great wave of punk rock. Musician and journalist Eric Davidson (Village Voice, CMJ, SF Bay Guardian) was there as this scene unfolded, tracking the inspiration and beautiful destruction of this largely undocumented movement.

Eric Davidson will be reading from his new book along with answering questions and showing videos and slides.

Afterwards (9:30), show by the band Pigs ($6)
