Thanks y'all, it's been fun
While we may have an article here or there that pops up in the feed (since we have a large backlog of articles sitting as drafts), The Tender has in effect stopped publishing. In addition to moving out of San Francisco, we have been working on other projects that have taken over our time.
We've talked to a couple of people about taking over the site, but after realizing the time commitment and looking in to several options, we don't wish to pursue this. We'll be leaving the website up indefinitely as an open reference for anyone who wishes to read the over 1,100 entries we've published during the last two and a half years.
With the heavy attention being given to re-developing San Francisco's stagnant downtown area, the Tenderloin is at one of the most interesting crossroads it's been at in maybe the last 30 or 40 years. Some things have gotten a great deal better. Some things have gotten a great deal worse. We hope that others will want to take up the mantle and create new sites for those who choose to live in this vibrant, central neighborhood; sites that call out both the good and the bad within Post, Mason, Market, and Van Ness. After all, it's free and really easy to create a blog.
We wish all of you the best in your future plans. Just remember: be curious, ask questions, don't judge, and love your neighborhood because no one else cares about it as much as you do.
